Obsolete pesticides lifted out of CropLife Ghana TSF

In July 2017, a team from Veolia UK and CropLife Ghana lifted 26MT of obsolete pesticides from the CropLife Ghana TSF (Temporary Storage Facility) for proper destruction and disposal in Europe. This program was funded by FAO Regional Office, Accra  under the FAO-TCP Program, and was in collaboration with CropLife Ghana, Ministry of Food & Agriculture (MoFA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Since 2010 till date, CropLife Ghana have been collecting and safeguarding obsolete and expired pesticide stocks from across the country and safely stored at the Temporary Storage Facility (TSF) in Pokuase (at the PPRSD-MoFA Headoffice). The  CropLife TSF (Temporary Storage Facility) was constructed mainly for safe storage of safeguarded obsolete and expired pesticides.

The obsolete stocks were collected from both government and private organizations (MoFA stores and private stores (input-dealers and importers and farm plantations) across the country since 2010 till date.
